Paia has recently been nominated as the "Happiest Beach Town in America" by coastal living magazine. It's an eclectic mix of old Hawaiian charm and new age organic hippie yoga surf town. Maui has been voted "Best Island in the world" for the 22nd year in a row by Conde Naste Travel! Paia has just been featured in Vouge Magazie and National Geographic Magazine. It's the place to be in Maui if you want to get away from the tourist trap" There are no big hotels and resorts here. Just quaint little botique hotels and B&B's. There is music in the cafe's at night and revolution in the air"

Dave is originally from the South Bay of Southern California. He grew surfing in polluted LA ocean water and breathing the smoggy brown air. He longed for a better life, free from gang violence, 5 lane traffic jams, hazy brown skys, and cold polluted ocean water. He quit his 9 to 5 cubicle life w/ 2 week paid vacation, expense account, and company car. He moved to Maui, where he was blessed by the gods with perfect surf and the woman of his dreams....Nyla, was born & raised in Maui where Aloha spirit, clear blue skys ,rainbows, breaching whales, and sacred waterfalls are the norm. Together they formed a perfect union and started a family of their own. They both love meet and share local knowlege and Hawaiian hospitality with all the guests who stay at Mangolani Inn.
